Re: Nova's Keep on the Shadowfell 4e Game (Part 1)
Aabra: armydeone:I think that would be best right now. I didn't get combat the way everyone else did :)
The last combat we had was on July 20th... it's now August 13th :( I'm all for storyboarding.
Well, talking to the girl that Shaggy met she offers to show you to the keep you have to map when the moon is next full provided you protect here and let her pick some flowers.

Re: Nova's Keep on the Shadowfell 4e Game (Part 1)
Old Grump:Shaggy and Star Share what they have learned and quickly move to the temple. Taking a position inside the door they discretely ask for the Sister and then wait quietly for the services to end before approaching her.
You approch a small stone building, and catch the end of a stirring sermon to Avandra, Goddess of Luck and Change, dealing with weathering hard luck such as the recent Kobald ambushes. After the service a young priestess approches you. "Oh, hello! We don't get many new faces around here! Good Fotrune upon you! I'm Sister Linora, can I help you?"

Re: Nova's Keep on the Shadowfell 4e Game (Part 1)
Ok, that pretty much wraps up what two of the groups have to do in town: You know the location of the temple (or you will next new moons), and you have a guide to where the Dear exploerer went missing. If I may make a suggestion why doesn't the party move forward while containing the RP here for the people who want it? (I also find weeks and weeks of pure combat somewhat boring)

Re: Nova's Keep on the Shadowfell 4e Game (Part 1)
Nova:Alright talking to Eilian the Old gets yo uthis: "You knew Douven? I always wondered what happened to him! He had questions abou thte old burial site southwest of the village. Thought a dragon might be buried there! I told him it was probably just an old trash heap, but he wouldn't hear of it, no sir! Well, of course I game him directions to the plac. I am something of a historian of the area, ou know! Oh, yes, Douven! Wel, he took my directions, and we haven't seen him since. I do hope the poor man is alright! I can give you directions to the burial...wait! I can do one better! Ironsheild just got back from his hunting expedition! He can show you the way! Follow me!" He then leads you to a series of tenements and knocks on the door. You are greeted by a large silver humanoid that appears to be made of wood and metal. *Cue new PC intro here*
Looking down the silvery humanoid eyes Eilian carefully and asks, "What can I do for you today, sir?" The tall figure looks up at the people with Eilian and checks each one out carefully taking its time to note their appearance. Turning back to Eilian it adds, "What are you getting me into this time old man?"

Shaggy and Star
While Shaggy carefully examines the temple and noting the stone work in particular Star engaes the good sister in conversation. Shaggy listens carefully but he's about talked out for the day unless he gets something a little stouter than water or tea in him.
Star explains their quest and what he and Shaggy have discovered to date. How he thinks it is tied to her Kobold problem. " I have been told by the good stable master that you are the authority of matters of this type and anything you can do to further my knowledge would be greatly appreciated. If you know of any weakness shown by this cult that would enable us to break them up or if necessary to destroy them. I know this isn't really a concern of Avandra and I don't expect you to violate any oaths or principles but we really need your help."
) Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

She speaks with convicition "The villagers of Winterhaven are good people. You won'[t find any evil here. I can assure you of that. I'm sure that if a cult were really operating in the area, I would have heard about it. And I would have taken action in the name of Avandrea --of that you can rest assured. Th e kobalds are a problem, but they appear every few decades according to Elian...eventually someone will put up the money for mercenaries to drive them away. You look capable yourselfs, you might want to talk to Lord Padraig, he might hire you to take care of them"

"I suppose I can do this even though I just got back," Ironshield sighs before grabbing his pack from the floor by the door. "We'll see what we can find out about him." After strapping his pack back on he grabs his quiver (with bow inside), sword and shield before turning to look at the people with Eilian. "My name is Ironshield. I'm doing this because I am a generally nice being. You would do well to heed my advice. If you do we may just come out of this alive." Ironshield steps out of his dwelling and secures the door behind him before waiting for a response from the others.

OOC: Ya, I should probably drop out. There's enough other people now that it shouldn't be a problem. If you guys need me to stay in then I can and will but if at all possible I think I'd like to just going to stick with my virtual table top game. Play by Post has just been too slow for me, I apologize. Again if you need me then I'll stick with it.

Re: Nova's Keep on the Shadowfell 4e Game (Part 1)
Oh, bleg. Sorry, been staying up till 2am playing IRL games the last couple nights and as a result this has slipped my mind, I'm so sorry. I'd be really sad to see anyone go. I'm sorry if I've been a poor DM missing updates and all. I'd perfere no one leave (obvusly) but if your not having fun then well, it was an intersteing experiment. I'm sorry about town taking so long, I'm just not sure how to make things go faster. If your dissatisfied with the lack of conflict then head out to find the prof and I can arrange something pretty quickly. Other then that....um. Sorry if I've sucked horribly at my DMing duties?

Re: Nova's Keep on the Shadowfell 4e Game (Part 1)
Well, since no ones posted to this I'm thinking the game is dying, might be my fualt for not sticking in some combat faster....well if anyone wants to keep playing let me know, I'll find more players or add NPCs or something if anyone wants to keep going. Or I could start another PBP in another system/setting if people would be more interested. I've had this long standing idea for a gladiator game that would work well for people who want near constnat combat.
